Booking conditions

Know what happens before you book.

These conditions explain the two booking routes: immediate confirmation when a property publishes availability, or a request that the property must accept.

Two booking routesThe screen always says whether you are booking now or sending a request.
Immediate bookingPay the stated deposit and receive confirmation.
Request to the propertyOnly a temporary card authorisation is made while you wait.
Remaining balanceYou pay it directly to the property.

Before you continue

The button tells you which type of booking you are making.

“Book now” means that the property has published rooms, prices and availability for those dates. “Request a stay” sends a request that the property must still accept or decline.

Before sending you to Stripe’s secure payment page, we show the booking route, dates, guests, room, total, deposit and remaining balance. We do not change a request into an immediate booking, or the reverse, without telling you.

Published availability

Paying the deposit confirms the booking.

When you choose a room, Visitar.com checks the current price, availability and deposit policy again. The room is held briefly while you pay. Stripe charges exactly the deposit shown; once payment succeeds, the booking is confirmed and we send the reference to you and the property.

If you leave before completing payment, no money is taken. The room is held only for the stated period and then becomes available again automatically.

No published availability

A request is not yet a booking.

When the property does not publish rooms in real time, the form records the proposed stay. We send the request only after you complete the secure card authorisation.

The property decides whether to accept or decline. The stay becomes a confirmed booking only when the property accepts, the deposit is charged and we send confirmation.

Payment

A temporary hold, not an immediate charge.

Before sending the request, you authorise a temporary hold on your card for the deposit shown on screen. Stripe processes the authorisation. While the request is pending, your card issuer may reduce your available balance by the same amount.

Visitar.com does not capture that amount unless the property confirms. We never capture more than the amount shown and authorised for that request.

While you wait

The property replies within the period shown.

  • If it accepts: we capture the authorised deposit, mark the request as a confirmed booking and email you.
  • If it declines: we release the authorisation and do not charge the deposit.
  • If time runs out: the request expires, we release the authorisation and tell you the result.
When will the money become available again?

Visitar.com releases the authorisation immediately when a request ends without confirmation. Your card issuer decides how long the hold takes to disappear.

If plans change

The point at which you cancel determines the result.

Immediate booking: payment not completed

If you return from Stripe without paying, no money is taken. You can resume the same session while the room is still held, or search again after the hold ends.

Request before confirmation

You can cancel a pending request from its status page. We charge no fee and release the card authorisation.

Any booking after confirmation

The deposit is non-refundable unless applicable law gives you a mandatory right to a refund, or the property cannot provide the confirmed stay. You pay the remaining balance directly to the property under the conditions shown during the booking process.

Property-specific conditions apply only if they are shown before authorisation or you expressly accept them afterwards. A confirmation cannot add conditions retrospectively.

Cooling-off period

The general 14-day cooling-off rule for distance contracts does not normally apply to accommodation booked for specific dates. This does not affect any other mandatory consumer rights.

Optional

Asking similar properties is always your choice.

If you select this option and the original property cannot accept, Visitar.com may share only the request details needed with similar participating properties in the same area. If you leave it unticked, we do not make that alternative search.

Responsibilities

Visitar.com handles the booking process; the property provides the stay.

Visitar.com transmits the booking or request, reports its status and processes the deposit payment or authorisation. The named property provides the accommodation and is responsible for the stay, premises and confirmed services.

For questions and unconfirmed requests, replies pass through Visitar.com and we do not give the property your contact details. Once the deposit is paid and the booking confirmed, the property receives the name, email address and, where supplied, telephone number it needs to manage the stay.

You can continue a conversation through the private link sent by email, without creating an account. To protect both sides and retain the request history, messages cannot contain telephone numbers, email addresses, external links or social profiles. Use the secure button in the conversation to send a booking request.

Cancel a pending request on its status page. To cancel a confirmed booking or ask about payment, the deposit or these conditions, email info@visitar.com.

These conditions do not exclude or reduce any consumer right that applicable law makes mandatory.
