The apartment
Apartment living on Graça’s main square
Four self-contained apartments occupy four floors of the same building on Largo da Graça. Each is advertised for up to four guests and includes a kitchen, washing machine, dishwasher and air conditioning. The upper apartments add balconies or terraces above the square, with the rooftops of Lisbon opening out beyond them.
It is a wonderfully useful address: trams, cafés, bakeries and everyday shops are immediately outside. The floor you choose changes the experience. Climbing higher brings better views and, in some apartments, outdoor space; it also means carrying luggage up more stairs. Rooms facing the square may hear traffic and street life, so light sleepers should ask where the bedrooms are positioned.

Guests praise the generous space, spotless interiors and a host who is easy to reach. Having a proper kitchen and laundry facilities makes the apartments comfortable for a longer stay. The photographs need to be matched to the apartment name: only some have a balcony or terrace, views improve on the upper floors, and every extra floor adds another flight of stairs. Ask which way the bedrooms face if street noise is likely to disturb you.
